Christine moved to Colorado in September 2017 and observed that there were not enough services available to children. She researched the suicide rates and access to services available to children in Colorado and determined the rates were staggering. According to the Colorado Attorney General's report completed in 2019, El Paso County teen suicide rates have doubled and doubled again in 2020 during the COVID pandemic. It is now the leading cause of death for ages 10-34. Based on this research and Christine's 13 years of experience in mental health, it was determined that there was a high need for this type of service in order to make a change in the face of mental health treatment for children.
